The Annual Union Christmas Party was held on Saturday, December 6th at the Jacksonville VFW. Festivities occurred on the opposite side of the building from where our Local holds its monthly meetings. On this side, there’s a large banquet hall and a stage where a live band entertained all night. A fantastic meal of pork loin and brisket was served with a slew of holiday helpings including sweet potato casserole, corn casserole, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh garden mix salads and dessert options. Guests to the party also enjoyed photo booth sessions, games, a scavenger hunt, and the most anticipated activity of every year – door prize drawings.
Among numerous smaller prizes, enough for each Member attending to be guaranteed to receive something, this year there were two grand-prize give-aways that were donated by a Member and former Member. The Local would like to give a special thanks and shout out to these two individuals and businesses: Brother Bill Engberg, owner of Blaze Diamond donated an exquisite pearl necklace; and former Member Holly Williams (who is wife of our Vice President Elect – Seneca Williams), owner of HS Music Accessories (https://hsmusicaccessories.com) donated an incredible looking electric guitar. These prizes were a great hit.
Special thanks also goes out to our Christmas Party planners who took over mid year from retiring Member Greg Edelstein and did a fantastic job of finishing out the final details and preparations on Greg’s plan: Brother Troy Raymond and Sister Cyndee Moody – thank you!
Below are some of the candid photos taken at the photo booth for you to enjoy. Sorry, but those that were taken as “boomerangs” wouldn’t load to the gallery.
